I met Ted at the beginning of a long journey back from a debilitating back injury in 2011. From the first time I met him, Ted exuded a mix of passion, knowledge, and professionalism that instantly secured my trust in him. In the process of taking small steps towards regaining my fitness, Ted was always there: guiding, encouraging, educating, and sometimes giving me a push to move beyond insecurity or empty excuses for not doing what I needed to do. He has always believed in me, even when I had lost faith in myself, which has been invaluable to my recovery. He doesn't shy away from encouraging women to be strong and healthy for life, not just for a certain activity, and not to limit ourselves to lighter weights or lower intensity out of fear of getting "too muscular". Fast forward two years, and I am in the best shape of my life on the cusp of turning 45. I am forever grateful to Ted and his staff at Big Bear CrossFit for giving me my life and health back. Ted is one of a kind for so many reasons. He impresses me every day with his depth and breadth of knowledge about nutrition, true fitness within and outside of the context of CrossFit, and his enthusiasm coupled with a magnetic personality. Ted also knows exactly how to motivate each of us, individually. He observes, asks questions, really listens, and then inspires us to take that next step towards whatever goal we have, whether it is to do a triathlon, or a smaller step, like adding 10 lbs to an overhead squat. Ted has been indispensable in my quest to feel better, be stronger, and face my fears, whatever they may be. Ted is a treasure!See MoreRead Less"
