Brent is a mechanic for Jamieson Transport .... In 1975 Brent entered the world, being the fifth son to parents John & Colleen. Brent was born and raised on the family farm. Where he attended a Catholic Primary school in Nightcaps Southland New Zealand then going onto High School in Winton Southland NZ leaving school at the age15 . Brent then went to work on a family farm contracting business, consisting of hay baling ... harvesting ... transport ... earthmoving ... farm drainage excavation... grain sheep and beef raising as well as normal farm work. At the age of 17, Brent became interested in Mechanical Machinery (the Workings of Engines) so moved to the local city of Invercargill to start work as a laborer at a truck repair shop where Brent worked in service and Joinery. Having an immense car accident in 1997, suffering from a massive head injury and hospitalised for a period of time Brent had to learn to do all most evey thing again as in learning to walk again, talk again, through intensive therapy. Brent also obtained other extensive injuries from the car accident which included a major eye injury, a broken neck, leg, Jaw, scaring to the face and injury to right ear and ear canal. With such comprehensive injuries Brent was in recovery for almost 6 years. During this period of time there were consistent hospital check ups and ongoing therapy. After Brent's accident and recovery he continued working in the family business for several years. Then in 1999, Brent came to Australia for the first time, where he worked on a cropping farm in Western Australia for a season. Brent returned home for a period of time. In 2003 Brent moved to Western Australia and started working in Kalgoorlie as a mechanic T/A for a truck dealership where he went to work on mine site's, working as a service man, servicing Komatsu excavator's, Caterpillar dump truck's and various other plant equipment. Brent made the decision to acquire a M/C driver's licence and began driving road trains, side tippers and carting general freight from Kalgoorlie to Merredin 5 Nights a week. Brent decided to return home to New Zealand for 18 Months, where he continued to repair transport equipment for a local company. On receiving a phone call from a previous Australian employer, who asked Brent to return to Australia, to work as mechanic Brent returned to Western Australia working as a laborer for almost a year. Brent obtained an apprenticeship and completed his studies and training and became a Qualified Automotive Engineer Plant Mechanic Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter and in 2013 is still working for the same Company in the Northwest town of Port Hedland, repairing and servicing a fleet of 50 road trains pulling Quad Trailer Combination's.See MoreRead Less"
