Joel is a visionary. As the artistic director of Joel Hall Dancers and Center, he has created more then "just a dance studio". He has created an epicenter for social and cultural exchange.
Literally, everyone who walks through his door, knows they are in a special place where they are accepted for who they are.
Joel Hall Dancers and Center is about more than just dance (even though the dance training is superior and second to none), it's a place where literally everyone can come to collaborate and no one walks away without learning something about themselves or their neighbor. In my opinion, this makes Joel Hall Dancers and Center stand out not only as a dance studio but as a community gem.
When you meet Joel and his staff, you will realize they are serious about dance, dedicated to the art form and deeply caring about their students.
I have been dancing at Joel Hall Dancers and Center for almost 8 years and it has changed my life. I'm forever appreciative and in awe of his center and I know many of my peers would say the same.
Every time I take class somewhere else, I am asked about my training and complimented on the quality of my technique.
Thank you Joel Hall for your vision and dedication to your community and the art of Dance. You truly are a treasure!See MoreRead Less
David is a professional musician DJ. He shows his client an entertaining and
memorable collaboration that will be enjoyed by all. His rates are very reasonable. His talent goes along with weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and religious gatherings. I was extremely pleased working with him for our wedding reception.See MoreRead Less
Scott is a rare human being. I directed him in one video shoot, and shot video with his direction and him as a star in two others. He has an uncanny ability to know exactly how he appears on camera, and his ideas are always fresh. Scott is always coming up with unique but solid ideas, and he never shrinks from a new opportunity. His work ethic is second to none.See MoreRead Less
I have known Elizabeth for many years as a friend and as a poetess. She has a great insight into the human condition and a gift for interpreting and sharing that insight. She is a compassionate, thoughtful and creative individual who also knows the meaning of friendship. I consider it a great honor to have known her for so long and to call her my friend through all these years.See MoreRead Less
I meet Kirby once years ago when he came to Madison to teach a workshop. I am from Chicago so it was good to see a face from the Chicago dance world where I am from. He was so gracious, he sat a talk to me and was every impressed with my eight year old daughter Imani.
Fast forward six years, My 14 year old daughter gets into The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts), and Kirby had had a stroke. I facebooked him to see how he was doing, and to tell about my daughter. I did not know if he would remember us, but he did. He was doing better and was happy to here about Imani. Before we ended our conversation I if ask if he knew if anyone needed a dance teacher in Chicago to let me know because we would have to move there for Imani to go to ChiArts. Two days later I heard from Kirby about a job, and I got it. I could never thank him enough.
What makes Kirby stand out is his love and generosity. He loves what he does and he is so good at connecting with people. People know when you are being real, it allows trust and openness and that is what Kirby gives and gets.See MoreRead Less
Anna's creativity and use of color makes her art very unique. Her book, Everyone Hoops But Me, is delightful. The pictures and story are very appealing to kids of all ages. I watched children's faces light up as they listened and looked at the illustrations. The kids loved the book. All of Anna's art is very creative and unique. It's beautiful and makes me smile.See MoreRead Less
I have known Brian for quite a while first as a friend, and second as a collaborator. I was fortunate enough to be involved in a short film project he and one of my co-workers worked on together.
He never ceases to amaze me with both his intellect and his talent.
He is serious when he needs to be, and has one of the most razor sharp senses of humor of anyone I've ever met.
My only disappointment is that we have so few opportunities to work together.See MoreRead Less
