Ask a Question

If there was one business problem you could have solved for you today, what would it be?

Business owners face a myriad of problems everyday. However, in the final analysis solving those problems is the difference between profit and loss. What is it about your business that you need to address but just never get around to doing it because you are too busy, well, running the business?

I think the one thing that I would love to tackle is finding people to work with that are like-minded.

That seems to be the hardest thing I face. I'm a web designer / developer and I've had a hard time finding other web professionals to work with that are in this industry for the same reasons I am, and have the same passion for it.

I design stuff for fun sometimes and one of my designers said "It's just a job for me". I can't stand that. Why are you doing it then. Because you though you'd jump on some tech wagon? Or is it because you would do this even if you wheren't making money at it.

The other angle regarding like-minded is the ethics part of it. I know what I can get done in one hour. I don't like people that fatten their hours to make a profit. Nothing wrong with profit, but a solid hourly rate should include your profit, not extra hours.

And the final part of this is about providing a service. Clients hire us for a service, and they are entitled to the deliverables, such as USB stick with a back up of thier site, the original logo and design files. That's how I feel about it.

I want to work with more like-minded people who are passionate, ethical, and provide a good service.

This industry is over run by the weekend warriors that use themes and say "I'm a designer" or simply edit some code and say "I'm a developer" and because of those people the industry is full of passionless people.

And, of course more hours in the day if that's possible. LOL.
